Andrew was a disciple of John the Baptist. When John called Jesus “the Lamb of God,” Andrew and a friend began to tail Jesus like two detectives. Sensing He was being followed, Jesus turned and asked them point-blank what they wanted. Without hesitation, they said they wanted to know where He lived. “Come,” he replied, “and you will see” (John 1:39).
In my grade school years, my dad showed me how to line up dominoes and then push the first one over. I began to understand the idea of a chain reaction. When Jesus said, “come and see,” He initiated a chain reaction of contagious Aliveness. The two disciples spent the day with Him and liked what they saw. Andrew hunted down his brother Peter and told him, “We’ve found the one we’ve been looking for, the Messiah.” Peter, noting his brother’s excitement and shining eyes, came and saw for himself.
